STARKVILLE, Miss.— Mississippi State’s College of Arts and Sciences this spring recognized graduate students for their academic accomplishments and successes at an April ceremony in their honor in the Grisham Room of MSU’s Mitchell Memorial Library.

“We hold this event to elevate graduate education in the College of Arts and Sciences and to recognize the wonderful graduate students in the departments,” said Kathleen Sherman Morris, assistant dean of academic affairs for the College of Arts and Sciences. “Each year I am blown away by the students we recognize. This year we had students who are publishing multiple papers as first authors, giving invited talks at national meetings and serving important roles in national or regional professional organizations while also teaching for the university and volunteering in outreach to K-12 students. They are a remarkable group, and I am so happy we get to celebrate them.”
