During the university research awards ceremony at the end of the spring 2018 semester, MSU President Mark E. Keenum presented Jackie Henry with a plaque acknowledging the work and dedication of her late husband, Bill Henry.
Jackie Henry accepted a patent award for intellectual property developed by her late husband, an MSU chemistry professor from 1988 to 2014. Bill Henry and collaborators in the Department of Chemistry, as well the Energy Institute, developed novel catalysts and processes for liquid hydrocarbon fuel production, which has implications for alternative fuels and energy.
Also present at the ceremony were vice president of the Office of Research and Economic Development, David Shaw; associate dean for research for the College of Arts and Sciences, Giselle Thibaudeau; and vice president of MSU's Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine, David Bohach (Pictured from left to right: Mark Keenum, Jackie Henry, David Shaw, Giselle Thibaudeau, Greg Bohach)
