The MSU Speech and Debate Team places in inaugural tournament
The MSU Speech and Debate Team travelled to it's first tournament this weekend at Louisiana Sate University at Shreveport. They competed with over 20 other regional colleges.
The tournament was split into two sections for Individual Events, BPCC and LSU-S.
At BPCC, Vanessa Cotton and Zamia Mason placed 6th in Duo Interpretation.
At LSU-S, Vanessa Cotton and Zamia Mason placed 5th in Duo. Interpretation. They also received the Top Novice Award in this division.
Sean McCarthy placed 4th in Persuasive Speech. He also received Top Novice Award in his division.
In IPDA Debate, Sean McCarthy and Parker Krag finished in the top 16 out of 68. Parker received the 1st place Speaker Award in the IPDA Novice Division, and Sean got the 3rd place Award in the IPDA Novice Division.
In all, we sent 8 students to the Red River Speech and Debate Tournament and returned with 10 trophies and plaques.
